How many types of magic are they? Could you please name some?

I've heard about Wiccans, Haitians, Satanists, Witches - and they all seem to have different types of techniques and beliefs in the magic they work. I've heard about this type of magic in which you have to cast a certain circle (Like salt circles, or pentagrams) around you to protect yourself from dark spirits. These kinds of magi work with spirits to do their bidding. I've also heard about a type of magic that you don't work with dark spirits and, therefore, you need not protection or circles in order to cast a spell. Instead, in this magic the belief is that you use your will, and the power of your thoughts to project that power in the real world...
